On our Australian Tour, our family recently took a visit to The Big Banana in Coffs Harbour and we did the Plantation Tour. We learnt so many fascinating things I just had to share. Australian Tour
In 2015, The Root Cause is taking their mission to Transform Children's Health, One Lunch Box At A Time on the road around Australia. On tour along with me will be my amazing husband, Israel Smith, and our two children Indrani (8 year old) and Rilien (then 4 years old).
Our aim is to educate children and parents in a fun and interactive way about healthy lunch boxes. The areas we will be covering include:
- What is a wholefood and what is a processed food
- Understanding carbohydrates, fats and proteins, and why all of them are important
- Understanding how sugar affects mood, behaviour and learning
- What is an additive and preservative, and how they affect mood, behaviour and learning
- How to read the labels on food packets
You can read more about the Mission here, but for the moment, we thought we'd start to share our journey and all the things we are doing as a family to prepare us for a life on the road. This is the bus we've bought which make taking our mission around Australia possible. Follow us here over the coming months to watch our bus transform into our home and our branded mission on wheels.
If your school or community group would be interested in learning more about our Healthy Lunch Box Program, please email me at belinda@therootcause.com.au.

Tasmania Photo Diary – Part 2: Wineglass Bay, Tahune Airwalk and Cataract Gorge
Wineglass Bay Wineglass Bay is a lovely little spot just over the hill from Coles Bay, on Tassie’s lower East Coast. It’s a bit of a hike over a mountain and down the other side, and the guides reckon it’s about 2.5 hours return. TIP: With young kids, multiply estimated hiking times by at least […]
Tasmania Photo Diary – Part 1: Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula
Well, it’s been ages since I posted a few of my tour photos taken on my ‘real’ camera, and since Tasmania was just so gosh darn beautiful, I figured I ought to post a few photos of our visit there. Bel had almost a week’s worth of commitments with our National Partners Worldwide Printing Solutions, so […]
